The Popular Group in the City Council of Puerto del Rosario has urged the local authority to insist that the Cabildo of Fuerteventura urgently carry out maintenance work on the FV-221 road, which connects to the coastal area of Los Molinos. The party has highlighted the evident deterioration of this section of the road, where the markings dividing the two directions of traffic are absent, several markers are down, and overall, the condition of the road poses an additional risk to drivers and visitors.

“We are talking about a high-traffic area, especially at this time of year, when the Pino tides attract many locals and visitors to Los Molinos, significantly increasing vehicle flow and making it dangerous to drive on a road that lacks proper safety conditions,” warn the PP councillors.

For this reason, the Popular Group deems it essential that the City Council of Puerto del Rosario, in its role as the closest institution to the residents, demands immediate action from the Cabildo to restore safety and dignity to this access road to one of the most visited spots on the municipality’s coast.

“The current state of the FV-221 is yet another example of the neglect our insular network of roads is suffering. The PP will continue to insist that the maintenance and safety of our road infrastructure be prioritised,” they conclude.
