The Canary Islands are set to experience a mixed weather pattern today, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). Cloud cover, light rainfall, and occasional bursts of sunshine will alternate across the archipelago, while temperatures remain high for this time of year.
Cloudy Skies in the North, Clearer in the South
In the northern regions of the higher islands, skies will be cloudy in the morning, giving way to clear spells around midday. Light, occasional rainfall is possible, especially in the midlands.
Elsewhere, conditions will be mostly clear, except on the southern and western slopes, where cloud development during the afternoon could bring isolated showers, although the probability remains low.
Temperature Outlook
Temperatures will see little variation compared to recent days. Forecasts indicate:
- Tenerife: highs around 27ºC.
- El Hierro: lows down to 16ºC.
- Las Palmas de Gran Canaria: between 22ºC and 25ºC.
- In the southern midlands, particularly on sun-facing slopes, temperatures could still approach 30ºC.
Overall, only a slight drop is expected, more noticeable in maximum daytime values.
Winds and Breezes
The northeast wind will blow moderately across the islands, intensifying at times in the southeast and western extremes. Breezes will dominate along the southwest coasts.
Island Forecasts in Detail

- Lanzarote and Fuerteventura: The northern halves will start the day with cloudy skies, clearing to partly cloudy as the day progresses. The southern areas will remain partly cloudy throughout.
