The resurfacing and improvement works of the road are expected to last five days
The Department of Works, Infrastructure and Accessibility of La Laguna City Council commenced resurfacing and improvement works on Francisco Afonso Carrillo Street on Monday. This key route in the La Verdellada area will be under construction for an estimated five days, provided that weather conditions allow for the proper settling of the new materials.
Municipal councillor Ángel Chinea explained that “in the initial days, the current pavement will be removed to check for any imperfections in the ground and to level it accordingly. Once this phase is completed, the final layer of surfacing will be applied to enable the reopening of this connection as soon as possible.”
Councillor Chinea highlighted the street’s significance due to its proximity to the main square of La Verdellada, numerous residential complexes, restaurants, and other key locations such as the Official School of Languages, as well as its connection to the Vía de Ronda.
He also noted that similar works have recently been completed on one of the busier streets in La Verdellada, namely Emilio Gutiérrez Salazar. This intervention included stretches from the intersections with Vicente Buergo and Arturo Vergara Rodríguez streets up to the area between CEIP La Verdellada and the Diocesan Seminary of Tenerife.
The Works, Infrastructure and Accessibility Area has already informed local residents and businesses about traffic closures, diversions, temporary parking bans, and other important updates.
Additionally, the City Council of La Laguna has set up a contact phone number and email address for reporting any incidents (689 502 512 and [email protected]).
