San Bartolomé Council Collaborates with Schools to Enhance Educational Facilities and Inclusivity

The San Bartolomé Town Council has held a working meeting with local schools to outline the municipal roadmap ahead of the new academic year. The Mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, alongside the Councillor for Education, Estefanía Luzardo, discussed with the management of CEIP María Auxiliadora, Güime, Alcalde Alexis Tejera Lemes, Playa Honda, and Ajei, the improvement works completed at all educational centres over the summer period. These enhancements aim to ensure that the facilities meet the needs and competencies required for the start of the academic year, thereby supporting teaching in each institution.

Future Meetings and Initiatives

Moreover, this initial meeting was also an opportunity to propose a calendar for the next three meetings of the Municipal School Councils and to outline the main activities in which the San Bartolomé Town Council will collaborate.

The Mayor, Isidro Pérez, stated during the meeting that the San Bartolomé government team has a clear commitment to education, ensuring that children and young people can access free education on equal terms.

Inclusion and Environmental Initiatives

In addition, the Councillor responsible for this department, Estefanía Luzardo, confirmed to the school leaders present that initiatives will be launched to make these spaces more inclusive. This includes the upcoming installation of adapted pictograms at the schools and activities linked to environmental education, such as a hiking project and the celebration of the Children’s Council, among others.

In this regard, the San Bartolomé Town Council noted new requests and expressed its willingness to work collaboratively with the schools as a public service.
