The San Bartolomé Town Council has strengthened its cleaning services with the addition of two new refuse collection vehicles. This investment of nearly half a million euros aims to modernise the municipal fleet.
The mayor, Isidro Pérez, presented the vehicles alongside the Councillor for Public Services, Raúl de León. Pérez highlighted that this acquisition “responds to the need to adapt the service to the increasing demand from the public.” He emphasised that this action complements other initiatives, such as the comprehensive replacement of bins and the awarding of a new contract for road cleaning and gardening.
The trucks, manufactured by MAN – Ros Roca, represent an investment of 457,500 euros plus taxes, financed through the “Accessibility Improvement Plan of Lanzarote” from the Cabildo Insular. These state-of-the-art vehicles are designed to optimise service efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
The Councillor for Public Services expressed his satisfaction with this modernisation, stating that “these trucks will enable a more effective, agile, and sustainable service, reinforcing the commitment to public management of municipal cleaning.”
With this investment, San Bartolomé reaffirms its commitment to sustainability and the well-being of residents, prioritising urban cleanliness as a key aspect of municipal management.
