San Sebastián de La Gomera Crowned Grand Prix Champions

San Sebastián de La Gomera has been crowned champion of the Grand Prix of Televisión Española after defeating the Madrid municipality of Cubas de la Sagra with a close score of 22 points to 18.

This marks San Sebastián de La Gomera as the first municipality from the Canary Islands to win a Grand Prix final. The competition has featured Canary Islands participation in various editions since its inception, including representatives from Haría in Lanzarote; El Sauzal, Güímar, and Buenavista del Norte in Tenerife; Antigua and Pájara in Fuerteventura; and Firgas in Gran Canaria. Both Haría and Pájara had previously reached the final in 1995 and 1997, respectively.

Led by Mayor Angélica Padilla, San Sebastián de La Gomera showcased its blue colours and was supported by motocross champion Jorge Lorenzo.
