The Cabildo of Fuerteventura, through the Department of Transport and the public service concessionaire, has established a special bus schedule for the celebration of the Festivities in Honour of Our Lady of La Peña on 19th and 20th September. Special Bus Service for the La Peña Festivities 2025.
This year, the Special Services have been modified to accommodate pilgrims and those wishing to attend the liturgical events, as detailed below:
Friday, 19th September:
Puerto del Rosario – Antigua: 20:30, 21:30, 22:30, and 23:30. Tickets can be purchased at the Puerto del Rosario Bus Station from 19:00 to 24:00. Price: €3. Continuous service from 01:00 to 08:00 the following day.
Antigua – Puerto del Rosario: 21:00, 22:00, and 23:00. Tickets available at the booth near the Local Police in Antigua. Price: €3. Continuous service from 01:00 to 08:00 the following day.
Antigua – Vega de Río Palmas: 08:00, 08:30, 09:00, 09:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 12:00, 12:30, 13:00, 13:30, 14:00, 14:30, 15:00, 15:30, 16:30, and 17:30. Tickets can be purchased on the bus and at the booth near the Local Police in Antigua. Price: €3. Continuous service from 18:00 to 08:00 the following day.
Vega de Río Palmas – Antigua: 08:00, 08:30, 09:00, 09:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 12:00, 12:30, 13:00, 13:30, 14:00, 14:30, 15:00, 15:30, 16:30, and 17:30. Tickets available on the bus and at the booth at the stop in Vega. Price: €3. Continuous service from 18:00 to 08:00 the following day.
Saturday, 20th September:
Antigua – Puerto del Rosario: 01:00, 02:00, 03:00, 04:00, 05:00, 06:00, 07:00, and 08:00. Tickets available on the bus. Price: €3.
Antigua – Vega de Río Palmas: 08:30, 10:30, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 17:00, and 19:00. Tickets available on the bus. Price: €3.
Vega de Río Palmas – Antigua: 09:30, 11:30, 13:00, 14:00, 16:00, 16:30, 18:00, and 20:00. Tickets available on the bus. Price: €3.
During these special services, activating or reloading transport passes will not be allowed to prevent delays due to the significant influx of passengers attending the festivities of Our Lady of La Peña. Therefore, it is essential to carry a properly loaded and activated transport pass for use on the special services.
On the buses operating these Special Services, the use of transport passes is permitted, but consumption of food and drinks inside the bus, as well as use of the luggage compartments, is not allowed.

Line 01:
Puerto del Rosario – Morro Jable: 05:00, 05:45, 09:00, 10:00, 11:00, 11:30, 12:30, 13:30, 14:30, 14:45, 15:00, 15:30, 16:00, 17:00, 18:30, 19:00, 20:00, and 21:00. Estimated travel time to Antigua: approximately 30 minutes.
Morro Jable – Puerto del Rosario: 07:30, 08:00, 09:00, 09:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 13:00, 13:15, 14:00, 15:00, 15:30, 16:30, 17:00, 17:30, 18:00, 19:00, 21:45, 22:30, 23:00, and 23:45. Estimated travel time to Antigua: approximately 1 hour and 35 minutes.
Line 16:
Puerto del Rosario – Gran Tarajal: 05:15, 09:30, 11:45, 16:00, and 17:30. Estimated travel time to Antigua: approximately 45 minutes.
Gran Tarajal – Puerto del Rosario: 08:30, 10:30, 13:00, and 17:30. Estimated travel time to Antigua: approximately 20 minutes.
Line 2:
Puerto del Rosario – Vega de Río Palmas: 11:00, 14:30, and 18:30. Only the 11:00 frequency stops at Antigua. Estimated travel time to Antigua: approximately 45 minutes.
Vega de Río Palmas – Puerto del Rosario: 08:30, 12:30, and 16:30.
The Cabildo of Fuerteventura encourages all attendees of the La Peña Festivities to use public transport as an alternative to driving, and to utilise the transport pass for their journeys on the special services during these celebrations in honour of the patron saint of Majorera.
