Successful Participation in the Young Summer 2025 Programme

Around 150 young people took part in the activities of the Young Summer 2025 programme organised by the Cabildo of Fuerteventura. This initiative, aimed at individuals aged between 12 and 30, sought to provide enjoyable experiences encompassing sports, healthy leisure, education, and connections to the island’s natural, cultural, and archaeological heritage.

This edition featured a total of 12 activities spread across different municipalities. These included excursions to the Islote de Lobos, whale watching, surfing lessons, traditional sports like Vela Latina Canaria, go-karting, catamaran trips, inflatable attractions and pedal boats at the Caleta de Fuste Water Park, a visit to Dromemilk, the largest camel farm in Europe, as well as an interpretive route and workshop at the archaeological site of the podomorphs of Morro del Humilladero.

The activities commenced in July and continued until early September. The councillor, Adargoma Hernández Rodríguez, emphasised that “Actívate Verano 2025 is a space for the island’s youth to enjoy summer in a fun, healthy, and different way, learning, sharing, and connecting with our territory. This programme aims to become a benchmark within the island’s youth activities during the summer, establishing itself as an essential event in the summer calendar for the new generations.”
