The ninth edition of the Tinajo Youtrail has been a resounding success. Local and international athletes embraced the event, which continues to grow year after year, seamlessly blending sport and nature.
Event Highlights
Over the weekend, Plaza de Los Dolores became the epicentre of trail running in the Canaries, featuring 650 runners from nine countries and as many as twenty provinces.
Winners of the 33 km Race
Octavio De León (Carphial Teror Trail) emerged victorious in the elite 33 km category, clocking a time of 2:56:07. He was followed by Rubén Rodríguez (CM El Jable), who finished at 3:00:22, while Alejandro Martín (Triyaiza) secured third place with a time of 3:08:08. In the women’s category, Beatriz Barroso from Tribu Trail triumphed with a time of 3:42:01. Teresa Menzel from Todo por un sueño claimed second place (4:03:39) and Marta Bazán from Latitud 29 rounded out the podium in third (4:08:18).
14 km Results
In the 14 km race, Rayco Hernández from Latitud 29 took the win with a time of 55:59, followed closely by David Reco from CD Hilera (57:50) and Tanausú Cabrera from CM El Jable in third place (59:19). The women’s race was won by Anya Lamprecht from Latitud, who finished in 1:08:39. Olga Martynenkova from Trisurest took second (1:09:17) and Laura Mulcahy from JHC secured third (1:11:46).
Winners in the 8 km Category
Akorán Rodríguez from EAMJ Playas de Jandía won the 8 km race with a time of 33:47, followed by Arnaud Binst (34:34) and Seydou Diao from CA Brisas de El Paso in third (35:30). In the women’s category, the title went to the Galician runner Clemence Baritou who completed the race in 42:02, followed by Margarita Flores (46:50) and Marika Medaglini (47:24).
Family and Community Involvement
On Friday, the Tinajo Youtrail welcomed hikers and children alike. Hiking enthusiasts relished the stunning landscapes of Tinajo, while the youngsters shone brightly, filling the event’s opening with smiles and colour.

The mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, expressed his congratulations: “Once again, I commend our Sports councillor, Vianney Rodríguez, for the success of the Tinajo Youtrail. Mancha Blanca was filled with one of the best trail-running atmospheres in all of the Canaries this Saturday. I would also like to thank all the technicians from the municipality, volunteers, security forces, and emergency services, as well as everyone who contributed to a wonderful weekend full of sport and camaraderie. The Plaza de Los Dolores has once again been filled with colour and joy, heralding an exciting week where we will celebrate extraordinary Fiestas de Nuestra Señora de Los Dolores,” the mayor concluded.
