The Government of the Canary Islands issues a warning for temperatures that could reach around 35 degrees on the island
The General Directorate of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands has issued a pre-alert due to temperatures on the island of Fuerteventura, as well as across the rest of the archipelago, for maximum temperatures starting today with no specified end date at present.
In this context, it is stated that “the heatwave persists in the interior, the midlands, and the higher areas of the western and southern slopes of the islands with the greatest elevation. Maximum temperatures could reach and/or exceed 30-34ºC.”
In Fuerteventura, particular caution should be exercised in the centre and south of the island, especially for infants, the elderly, and the ill. Despite the trade winds, the haze is expected to remain with us at least until the weekend.
