The Council of Tenerife has allocated €541,000 to sports projects in Granadilla de Abona.
The Sports Councillor, Yolanda Moliné, visited the southern municipality this Tuesday, where she met with the mayor, José Domingo Regalado, the deputy mayor and councillor for Works, Marcos Antonio Rodríguez, the councillor for Sports, Rubén García, and the managing director, Ramón Fredi Oramas.
During the meeting, various topics were discussed, including upcoming municipal projects and the status of works in which the Insular Corporation is collaborating through the Tenerife Sports Infrastructure Plan (PIDT).
Investment Plans
In 2025, the investment will focus on the Urban Park of Los Cardones, with €110,218, which is currently in the project drafting phase, and the “Francisco Suárez” Stadium, with €373,258, which has been completed with the replacement of the grass.
For 2026, funding will be allocated to the Football 7 Field of Los Abrigos, amounting to €57,500.
Recent Developments
Similarly, in 2024, a multi-sport court at the Las Chozas Sports Centre was opened, and nominative grants were provided for the development of a repair project for the “Pollito de la Barriada” Wrestling Venue (€38,000), as well as for the drafting of the project for the Sports Centre in San Isidro (€42,000).
Regarding this, Moliné emphasised that “in Granadilla de Abona, the Sports area of the Council is making a significant investment, with up to three initiatives for renewing and adapting various infrastructures.”
Additionally, the councillor “stressed the importance of continuing to invest in spaces that promote healthy habits and encourage sports in the municipality for both children and adults, in collaboration with the local councils.”
