Tenerife Launches Language Immersion Scholarships for Students
SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 17 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo of Tenerife, through the Department of Education, has announced the launch of its Language Immersion Scholarship programme, designed to enable 340 students from the island to study abroad during the academic years 2026/2027/2028.
Applications for the scholarships will be accepted until 13 October, as confirmed by the local government in a statement.
“Thanks to this unprecedented public funding, we ensure that talented and hardworking students can access international experiences that would otherwise be beyond their reach. This initiative aims to eliminate economic barriers and promote equal opportunities,” emphasised the island’s president, Rosa Dávila.
Details of the Language Immersion Programme
The Language Immersion programme targets students in Years 10 and 11 (3rd and 4th of ESO) and offers three types of international stays: annual, term-based, and Dual Baccalaureate options in key language teaching countries such as the United States, Canada, Ireland, and France.
International Dual Baccalaureate Scholarships
Specifically, the scholarships for the International Dual Baccalaureate, aimed at students in Years 12 and 13, allow for the attainment of a dual qualification (Spanish and American or Canadian Baccalaureate) over two academic years.
The minimum scholarship amount per student is set at €8,500, with the maximum reaching up to €17,500 per student. Applications will remain open until 13 October.
