The Cabildo Allocates Three Million Euros in Grants for Students with Special Needs

The application period is open until 28 November.

The Cabildo of Tenerife, through its Employment and Education department, has allocated a budget of three million euros for grants aimed at students with special needs. The announcement of these aids was published today (Friday) in the Official Bulletin of the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and the application period will remain open until 28 November.

The Councillor for Employment and Education, Efraín Medina, emphasised that “these grants are a fundamental tool to ensure equal opportunities and promote educational inclusion for our students. We want no one to be left behind due to a lack of financial resources. Education is the foundation of a fairer society, and this Cabildo is firmly committed to supporting the families who need it most.”

Furthermore, Medina added that “with this announcement, we reinforce our commitment to inclusion, as we understand that diversity enriches our classrooms and society as a whole. These aids not only alleviate the financial burden on families but also provide reassurance and support in their children’s educational journeys.”

The grants for students with special needs complement other funding initiatives, representing a total investment of 12 million euros. Specifically, they provide financial support for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral studies as well as complementary grants for the Erasmus programme and transport subsidies.

The distribution of funds includes eight million euros for University Studies; three million for students with special educational needs, which triples the investment; and half a million euros, respectively, for artistic education and Vocational Training.

All information and documentation related to this funding line (regulatory bases, announcements, standard application forms, and additional statements) can be accessed via the electronic headquarters of the Insular Cabildo of Tenerife.
