The Cabildo of Tenerife, taking into account the evolution of meteorological circumstances, will implement, from 7:00 am on Saturday, 16 August, grade 2 forest fire prevention measures in the municipalities on the northern slope of the island of Tenerife, while grade 3 measures will remain in effect in the municipalities on the southern slope.
In the municipalities influenced by the trade winds, where temperatures are milder and the increase in relative humidity has been maintained, vegetation has recovered the water content it had lost, reducing the risk of forest fire, hence grade 2 measures will be applied.
Conversely, in municipalities facing south, although the temperature has decreased, humidity remains very low, making it advisable to maintain grade 3 prevention measures.
Grade 2 measures apply in the municipalities of Buenavista del Norte, Los Silos, El Tanque, Garachico, Icod de los Vinos, La Guancha, San Juan de la Rambla, Los Realejos, La Orotava, Santa Úrsula, La Victoria de Acentejo, La Matanza de Acentejo, El Sauzal, Tacoronte, San Cristóbal de la Laguna, Tegueste, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and El Rosario.
