Firefighters in Tenerife had a busy day yesterday, Monday 8, responding to multiple emergencies on the island, including vehicle fires, a palm tree fire, and assistance for a person with reduced mobility.

The first incident occurred at 5:35 AM, when firefighters based in La Laguna were dispatched following a 112 call regarding a car fire in the El Portezuelo area of Tegueste. They were assisted by volunteers from Tegueste and the Guardia Civil.

Hours later, around 9:45 PM, crews from the San Miguel fire station attended to another vehicle fire, this time in Arico. The Guardia Civil also participated in this emergency response.

Almost simultaneously, at 10:30 PM, firefighters from Santa Cruz were called to the extended section of Ramón y Cajal Street to extinguish a fire in a palm tree. Local police also arrived on scene to assist.

In addition to the fires, firefighters from La Laguna were requested to provide humanitarian assistance at 10:55 PM, transporting a person with reduced mobility from a fourth-floor flat in La Cuesta. This service was requested by the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC).

The workday for the firefighters of La Laguna concluded shortly before midnight, at 11:55 PM, when they responded to a fire alarm on Bencomo Street. After inspecting the area, they confirmed there was no danger and proceeded to disconnect the alarm, with assistance from the Local Police.
