Tenerife will host the First Nautical Fair of the Canary Islands, taking place at the Fairground from 19 to 21 September.
This was announced by the Minister of Industry and Vice-President of the Fairground, Manuel Fernández, during a press conference where he was joined by FEMETE President Juan Antonio Jiménez, who emphasised the challenge of organising innovative events like this one.
Fernández highlighted that “in this first edition of the Nautical Fair of the Canary Islands, Tenerife aims to become a reference point for the maritime sector in the islands, transforming the Fairground into a key meeting place for businesses, institutions, and maritime enthusiasts.”
The Minister also referred to the “collaborative efforts we have undertaken with other institutions and businesses in the sector, as well as organisations such as the Provincial Federation of Metal and New Technologies Companies of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, FEMETE, ASNÁUTICA, the maritime cluster of the Canary Islands, TURMAR Canarias, and FEDEPORT.”
The aim of this initiative is to promote, encourage, and boost the development of the nautical sector in the archipelago, along with its auxiliary sectors and maritime tourism. Ultimately, the goal is to “promote marine sports and leisure, stimulate nautical and maritime tourism, generate new business opportunities for companies in the sector, enhance the professionalisation of related trades and services, and raise awareness while strengthening the bond between Canarian society and its marine environment.”
The First Nautical Fair of the Canary Islands will feature 50 exhibitors and 60 stands spread over 10,000 square metres of the Main Hall of the Fairground from 19 to 21 September, opening from 10 am to 8 pm, except for Sunday the 21st, when the Fair will be open from 10 am to 3 pm.
In addition to the exhibitors, this initiative will include workshops, talks, and round tables, addressing topics such as the Canary Islands’ blue economy strategy, cetaceans of Macaronesia, and the future Industrial and Naval Centre of the Canary Islands, among others.
