The Cabildo of Tenerife will allow access to the trails in the north of the island starting tomorrow, Saturday, due to the evolving weather conditions.
In the northern part of the island, forest fire prevention measures of grade 2 will be implemented from 7:00 am, while in the south, grade 3 measures will remain in place.
In the municipalities affected by the trade winds, where the temperatures are milder and relative humidity has increased, the vegetation has regained the water content it had lost, thus reducing the risk of forest fires.
Therefore, in Buenavista del Norte, Los Silos, El Tanque, Garachico, Icod de los Vinos, La Guancha, San Juan de la Rambla, Los Realejos, La Orotava, Santa Úrsula, La Victoria de Acentejo, La Matanza de Acentejo, El Sauzal, Tacoronte, San Cristóbal de la Laguna, Tegueste, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and El Rosario, access to the forest trails will be permitted.
Furthermore, hunting activities without a shotgun and training will be allowed, along with transit on island roads and municipal communication routes.
However, the prohibition on lighting fires outdoors will remain in place: bonfires, stoves, barbecues, gas cookers, and similar items; fireworks displays, the use of machinery and tools that produce sparks, forest exploitation, the use of recreational areas, and camping sites.
In the municipalities facing south, although the temperature has decreased, humidity remains very low, so a more restrictive prevention level continues to apply.
In the municipalities of Candelaria, Arafo, Güímar, Fasnia, Arico, Granadilla de Abona, San Miguel de Abona, Arona, Vilaflor, Adeje, Guía de Isora, and Santiago del Teide, grade 3 measures will continue to be enforced, which include the prohibitions on accessing trails and roads, as well as any hunting activities.
