The Guardia Civil Conducts Police Training Sessions for Local Police Members in Fuerteventura and Lanzarote – Lanzarote News

The Command of the Civil Guard of Las Palmas, within the framework of the Coordination and Collaboration Protocol established between the State Security Forces and Local Police, conducted instruction days for local police in operational intervention based on police technical defence and firearm training in July and early August.

The training sessions took place over two days on both islands. The first day focused on perfecting police technical defence. Content related to appropriate procedures for conducting identifications, searches, cuffing, and the correct handling of detained individuals was taught. Through theoretical and practical sessions, police personnel were able to enhance their skills and update their knowledge in the field of intervention and control.

During the second day, activities centred on police shooting training. Officers received instruction on the fundamental principles of firearm safety, as well as safe handling of the service weapon. Additionally, essential aspects concerning stance, aim, and precise execution in police shooting were addressed, enabling participants to improve both their technical skill and confidence in operational situations.

The sessions are designed to encourage maximum cooperation among different security bodies, with the aim of optimising available resources and strengthening both prevention and response to any type of incident. This initiative seeks to create a space for exchanging knowledge, experiences, and best practices, facilitating joint work and effective coordination among the various security forces.

The training provided has proven to be a resounding success, evidenced by the high participation of police officers from both islands.

This high level of attendance not only demonstrates the interest and commitment of security professionals but also ensures greater effectiveness in applying what has been learned, benefiting the entire community.
