Marlene Figueroa, the Tourism Councillor for the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, highlighted “this quality tourism seal. It underscores the commitment of the tourism sector to the quality and sustainability of the destination. Constant improvement is sought not only by the Tourism Board but also by the sector itself.”

The island councillor presented the distinctions, alongside the councillors for the area: Rosa Rodríguez (Puerto del Rosario), Dulce García (Tuineje), and David Fajardo (La Oliva), along with La Oliva councillor Juan José Rodríguez.

Today’s SICTED distinctions were awarded to Finca Canarias Aloe Vera, Hotel Occidental Jandia Mar, La Fábrica Aloe, Labranda Aloe Club, Laurens Peluqueros, Lemon & Soul Cactus Garden, New Fit Canarias, Nina Boutique, Hotel Occidental Jandia Playa, OIT Puerto del Rosario, Playitas, Playitas Apt., La Oliva Local Police, SBH Maxorata Resort, and SBH Monica Beach Resort.

All these companies have met the standards of the Comprehensive Quality Tourism System in Destinations (SICTED). They demonstrate their commitment to good practices, customer service, innovation, and social responsibility, as well as to the ongoing updating and periodic evaluation of their processes.

Currently, Fuerteventura has 82 tourism companies and services associated with SICTED, solidifying the island’s status as a tourist destination that prioritises quality and excellence in all its services. This system, promoted by the State Secretariat for Tourism (SET), the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), and local administrations, is present in 260 destinations across Spain.

The Tourism Board continues to work towards strengthening the training and development of local companies, ensuring that Fuerteventura offers its visitors a quality experience.
