The Pájara Town Council, through its Department of Festivities, is organising the El Pulpito celebrations in Puertito de La Cruz from 5th to 7th September, featuring a packed programme of activities for all ages. The Councillor for Festivities, Juan José Viera, emphasises the importance of keeping the municipality’s traditions alive. “The El Pulpito festivities hold deep significance for our residents, and therefore we have worked hard to provide an ideal programme,” he adds.
Additionally, the councillor encourages the public to attend the celebrations, which will include a wide variety of recreational, sporting, and cultural activities. He also expresses gratitude to the municipal staff, participants, and organisations that have collaborated to make this event possible.
Programme of Events
The El Pulpito celebrations will kick off on Friday, 5th September, at 12:00 with the decorating of the streets. From 17:30, various activities will take place, including a Children’s Party with bouncy castles and workshops, board games, and the grand Scala Hifi. The evening will conclude with a Night of Bands at 22:00, featuring performances by Mejor con Copas, Siroko, and La Banda del Cuco.
On Saturday, 6th September, the XXVI Popular Race between Lighthouses will start at 18:00, organised by the Fuerteventura Athletics Federation and the Department of Sports of the Pájara Town Council. Following this, at 19:30, a Bingo event will be hosted by EAMJ – Playas de Jandía. At 21:00, the Mariachi Las Salinas will perform, and at 22:30, there will be a dance featuring Saylen, Orquesta La Banda Nuestra, and Nuevo Klan.
On Sunday, 7th September, the festivities will conclude with a daytime dance featuring Pepe Benavente and Nuevo Klan, starting at 12:30, followed by a foam party. At 13:00, all attendees can enjoy a popular paella tasting.
