Temperatures Drop as Calima Disperses
Weather Changes Ahead
After two days of calm, the wind will resume its role as a key weather factor starting Tuesday, blowing across the island of Fuerteventura with moderate intensity until Saturday. In addition, sea conditions will become rougher.
Alisio Winds Take Charge
The alisio winds will again take centre stage, pushing the Saharan ridge away, resulting in cooler temperatures and driving the calima to the south.
Increased Wave Height
Meanwhile, wave heights are expected to rise, potentially reaching 3 metres along the northern and western shores of the island. Caution is advised for swimmers and beachgoers, particularly in areas exposed to the alisio winds, which likely include the north, northwest, and southeast parts of Fuerteventura.
