The San Roque Festivals of Tinajo celebrated their main day with the Eucharist and the procession, which was attended by the Municipal Band of Tinajo.
The afternoon began with the mass, presided over by the parish priest, Don Francisco García Socorro, with the Church of San Roque filled to capacity and quite warm, following the trend of recent days. After the Eucharist, the San Roque procession began, led by the Municipal Band of Tinajo, providing the soundtrack to the saint’s journey through the streets of the municipality.
Once again, the procession took place with complete normality, showing respect as San Roque advanced, followed by the municipal band, the mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, the Tinajo government group, and the coneja parliamentarian, Migdalia Machín.
After the well-attended procession and the arrival of San Roque at the square that bears his name, he received a folkloric offering from the Agrupación Folclórica Gaida, whose music and dances filled the Tinajo square with rhythm, tradition, and colour.
Shortly afterwards, the Social Hall became the stage for the XXIV AMC Timbayba Festival, featuring this edition’s invited group, the Grup de Ball Es Boll from Ibiza.
The mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, expresses his gratitude for “the devotion to San Roque that the people of Tinajo have once again shown, first participating in the mass and then in the procession. With the main day of our patron almost bringing the San Roque Festivals 2025 to a close, I hope it has been to the liking of all the residents of Tinajo. Long live San Roque. Long live Tinajo,” concludes the mayor.
