On Monday afternoon, a traffic accident occurred on the LZ-10 road, near kilometre point 2, within the municipality of Teguise, heading towards Nazaret. Two vehicles collided head-on, necessitating a significant emergency response in the area.

Despite the severe impact, two individuals sustained mild injuries, barring any complications: one man and one woman (the latter aged 58), both of whom were transported by ambulance from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) to the José Molina Orosa Hospital in Lanzarote.

According to the Lanzarote Consortium for Security and Emergencies, the alert was received via the Coordinating Centre for Emergencies and Security (Cecoes) 1-1-2 Canarias, which promptly dispatched health resources, firefighters, and the Traffic Civil Guard.

Upon arrival, the responders found the two vehicles in a stationary position following the collision. The occupants were already receiving treatment from medical personnel in the ambulances on the scene, ensuring immediate medical assistance.

The firefighters from the Central Park acted swiftly to prevent any additional risk. They proceeded to disconnect the batteries of the damaged vehicles, a standard precaution to prevent fires or short circuits.

Once the area was secured, the intervention teams cleared the road of glass and fluids to ensure safety. Subsequently, following the instructions from the Civil Guard, the damaged vehicles were removed from the roadway to restore traffic flow as quickly as possible.

Traffic on the LZ-10 returned to normal after the operation, although delays were reported in both directions for several minutes.
