In the early hours of Monday, 15th September, around 5:10 AM, the emergency services in Lanzarote were alerted to a traffic accident on the LZ-2 road, near the well-known Lanzarote to Caballo roundabout in the municipality of Yaiza.
According to the Lanzarote Consortium for Security and Emergencies, the incident involved the lateral overturning of a vehicle, which became wedged between the guardrail and a concrete wall. Upon the firefighters’ arrival, it was confirmed that the only occupant of the car had managed to exit the vehicle unaided.
The driver was conscious and appeared uninjured, stating that he did not require medical assistance.
Following this, Traffic Civil Guard officers arrived at the scene to ensure safety and coordinate the removal of the vehicle. To free the car, it was necessary to dismantle part of the guardrail and reposition it before removing the vehicle from the roadway.
The intervention concluded with the vehicle’s retrieval being completed without further complications, and the closure of the service was reported to the CECOES. The owner remained at the scene accompanied by a relative, awaiting the tow truck to transport the damaged car.
