The Lanzarote community is in shock following the confirmed death of Yeray Sánchez Morales, a 17-year-old with close ties to the island, who passed away on Wednesday, 3rd September, in a London hospital. Yeray had been hospitalized for a week after being stabbed in the Old Kent Road area of London on Wednesday, 27th August.
According to information released by the Metropolitan Police of London, the young man did not survive the severity of his injuries. The ongoing investigation has led to the arrest and subsequent charge of a 15-year-old male, who cannot be publicly identified for legal reasons.
British authorities have reported that the detained youth faces charges of murder, grievous bodily harm, and possession of an offensive weapon. Legal proceedings are underway, and the case is expected to attract significant attention in the courts of the British capital.
