Tragic Passing of Tanausú Hernández at 35

The young resident of Arrecife, Tanausú Hernández, popularly known as Tana, has sadly passed away in the early hours of Tuesday at the age of 35.

This young man became tetraplegic in 2010 at the age of 20 after diving headfirst at a beach in Costa Teguise. He became well-known on the island for his efforts to advocate for accessibility in his home.

Struggles and Achievements

Hernández spent seven years with limited ability to leave his home, situated on the second floor of a building in Valterra. Through a relentless struggle, and with the support of Leticia Padilla, the former councillor of Podemos in Arrecife, he managed to install a lift in his residence, enabling him to finally go outside.

Health Complications

According to information obtained by La Voz, Tanausú Hernández had been admitted to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital in Lanzarote a few days prior due to pneumonia. However, his condition deteriorated, and he tragically passed away.
