Training Initiative “Sendero para Todos” Aims to Enhance Accessibility for People with Disabilities in Lanzarote

The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Social Welfare and Inclusion Area, in collaboration with the Association Senderos sin Barreras, is organising a training programme called ‘Pathway for All’. This initiative, part of the Island’s Accessibility and Inclusion Strategy, will take place on the 26th, 27th, and 28th of September at the former Daos School in Puerto del Carmen.

Invitation to Participate

The Social Welfare Councillor, Marci Acuña, invites the public to take part in these sessions, where attendees will learn to use the joëlette, a sports wheelchair, at levels one and two. “With these training activities, we aim to reduce the fact that 50% of people with disabilities cannot enjoy their leisure time as they would like, and to demonstrate that in our area, everything is possible,” he states.

Community Collaboration

“From the island corporation, we emphasise the need to collaborate with citizens to eliminate obstacles and barriers, ensuring that people with disabilities can enjoy social activities and lead active lives like everyone else,” underlines Marci Acuña.
