The municipality of Tuineje will host the inaugural edition of Agrofuer at the beginning of September, a new event aimed at promoting local produce, gastronomy, and the culture associated with Fuerteventura’s rural environment. Agrofuer will take place on 5th and 6th September.

The event will be held in the historical centre of the town, where producers, chefs, artisans, and artists will come together to offer an experience that blends tradition, innovation, and entertainment.

This initiative is part of the programme “Fuerte por Naturaleza”, promoted by the Department of Tourism and funded by European Next Generation EU funds. The organisation is managed by the Cabildo of Fuerteventura and the Chamber of Commerce, which have previously signed an agreement aimed at linking tourism development with the support of the island’s inland communities.

Among the scheduled activities are gastronomic tastings featuring locally sourced products, musical performances, and a wide range of cultural offerings. Majorera craftsmanship will take centre stage, with prominent creators present and workshops that allow the public to learn traditional techniques up close.

With this first edition, Tuineje aims to establish itself as a benchmark for showcasing the island’s identity, bringing residents and visitors closer to the richness of a territory that transforms the harshness of the landscape into flavour, culture, and tradition. Agrofuer will take place on 5th and 6th September.
