Top EU Beaches for 2025 Ranked by Omio

Canary Islands Shine in Newly Released Rankings

The summer of 2025 has brought exciting news for beach lovers, as the platform Omio, a leader in international bookings for trains, buses, flights, and ferries, has published its annual ranking of the best beaches in the European Union. Among the 75 beaches analysed by experts, two stunning locations in the Canary Islands topped the list.

In second place is Playa de Las Canteras in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, receiving 90 points out of 100. However, claiming the top spot is Playa de Las Teresitas in Santa Cruz, Tenerife, with an impressive score of 96 out of 100.

Criteria for Ranking

According to Omio, the ranking focuses on the most affordable beach destinations for the summer while also considering the quality of facilities and surroundings. Key factors include visitor reviews, average water temperature, and current prices for typical beach essentials such as sunbed rentals, ice creams, local beers, and, for the first time, iced coffee and hotel stays. The study has also introduced a comprehensive assessment using AI technology.

Analysis Highlights

Omio’s research highlights the beach destinations that achieve the “ideal balance between affordability and pleasant temperatures,” with Playa de Las Teresitas standing out among those analysed.

The AI, powered by ChatGPT, rated Playa de Las Teresitas with 96 points, focusing on the beach’s suitability for families, sand quality, wave conditions, and nearby infrastructure, particularly the availability of restaurants, toilets, and parking spaces.

Other Notable Beaches

Last year’s favourite, Playa de Las Canteras, now occupies second place for 2025, while third place goes to Cleopatra Beach in Alanya, Turkey, where a scoop of ice cream costs around 2 euros. Average nightly stays there are about 92 euros, with even cheaper options available in the popular tourist city of Side, where rooms average around 77 euros.
