In total, approximately 15 grams of cocaine, 9 grams of heroin, and 8 grams of hashish were seized.

Police Operation in San Bartolomé de Tirajana

Agents from the National Police, assigned to the Local Judicial Police Brigade of the Telde Local Police Station, have arrested two women in San Bartolomé de Tirajana for allegedly attempting to commit a public health offence by trying to introduce narcotics into the Las Palmas II Penitentiary Centre.

Incident Background

The incident occurred on Monday afternoon when officers, in coordination with the centre’s security staff, intercepted the women during the access control process.

According to the National Police, the suspects were on their way to have an intimate meeting and a family visit with two inmates, respectively.

Discovery of Concealed Drugs

In a designated area, the women voluntarily handed over several packages hidden in their intimate clothing.

The haul included approximately 15 grams of cocaine, 9 grams of heroin, and 8 grams of hashish, along with two mobile phones.

Market Value of the Seized Drugs

The illicit market value of the drugs has been estimated at €1,371 on the street, a figure that could rise to €8,228 within a prison setting due to differing supply and demand, the police reported.

The two women were subsequently placed at the disposal of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Investigative Court.
