Agents of the National Police have arrested two women in Tenerife, suspected of carrying out a robbery with force on the night of 31 August at a retail establishment in Las Américas, in the municipality of Arona.

The suspects made off with a total of €9,675, which has since been recovered by the police.

According to the investigation, the women employed the “Encalomo method”. One of them, who had previously worked at the establishment, hid inside before closing time without the staff noticing, while the second waited outside. Once the venue was closed, the first woman allowed her accomplice to enter.

Inside the premises, they accessed several gaming machines using a master key, thus avoiding any visible break-ins.

A few days later, both women were located and arrested.

In the vehicle they were using, part of the stolen money, clothing worn during the robbery, and two balaclavas were found.

Subsequently, during a court-authorised home search, the remainder of the money, the master key, and the clothing used were recovered.

Public Cooperation

The National Police reminds the public that there is a section called Collaborate on their website www.policia.es, where individuals can anonymously provide tips or suspicions regarding criminal activities.
