Vehicle Fire in Shopping Centre Garage Leads to Evacuation
A vehicle parked in the garage of the Avenida de Canarias shopping centre in Vecindario, located in the Gran Canaria municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana, caught fire on Tuesday night around 20:42. The incident alarmed local workers, as noted by the Gran Canaria Fire Consortium through their social media channels.
The fire originated on level -3 and prompted the evacuation of a homeless individual who had been sleeping in the trailer of one of the parked cars.
The blaze led to a swift response from the Gran Canaria firefighters based at the Arinaga station. In addition, the incident required the collaboration of Telde firefighters, Guardia Civil agents, and the local police from Santa Lucía de Tirajana.
