Emergency services from the Lanzarote Council’s Consortium for Safety and Emergencies attended reports of a vehicle overturning on the LZ-701 road, near the fuel station close to the Janubio salt pans in the municipality of Yaiza. The number of injuries and whether anyone was trapped remained unknown.
Incident Details
Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters confirmed that the vehicle had left the road and was lying on its side. The driver was conscious inside the vehicle. Efforts were made to stabilise the vehicle.
In coordination with medical personnel, the driver’s condition was assessed. A cervical collar was applied, and she was extricated through the rear hatch using a rescue board. Once out of the vehicle, the patient was secured on a vacuum mattress in the ambulance for transport to the hospital.
