Actress Verónica Echegui has passed away at the age of 42, as confirmed by Unión de Actores through their profile on the social network X. A wake has been established at the Tanatorio de La Paz in Madrid.
Early Career
Born in the capital, Echegui made her television debut with small roles in various series. Her first foray into film was in the movie ‘Yo no soy la Juani’, where she played the lead role. For this performance, she was nominated for the Goya Award for Best New Actress.
Notable Projects
Following that, Echegui appeared in several projects including ‘Tocar el cielo’, ‘El menor de los males’, ‘8 citas’, and ‘La casa de mi padre’. She received multiple nominations for Best Female Lead for her performances in ‘El patio de mi cárcel’ (2008) and ‘Karmandú, un espejo en el cielo’ (2011), as well as for Best Supporting Actress for ‘Explota, explota’ (2020).
