
The skies in Canary Islands will feature cloudy intervals in the north on Monday, with clear spells expected in the afternoon and a low probability of light and occasional rain towards the end of the day. The rest of the region will see mainly clear skies, with a general decrease in temperatures, as reported by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
Winds will be moderate from the north to northeast, with periods of strong gusts in the southeast and northwest slopes, while the mountainous southwest will experience prevailing breezes.
As for the sea conditions, the wind will blow from the northeast with strengths of 4 to 5, increasing to 6 at certain points in the east and west of the mountainous islands, including Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. There will be choppy seas turning to rough seas, along with a variable background swell with waves reaching heights of up to one metre.

Lanzarote. Cloudy intervals in the north, predominantly overcast in the early hours. Widespread clear spells are expected by midday, with clouds returning in the evening and a low chance of light, occasional rain. The rest of the island will remain mostly clear, becoming intermittently cloudy by the end of the day. Temperatures will remain unchanged or slightly decrease. Moderate north winds, with strong gusts possible in the southern inland areas in the afternoon, where very strong gusts cannot be ruled out.
Fuerteventura. Cloudy intervals in the early hours, turning mostly clear from midday. In the evening and night, it will become overcast, with a low probability of light, occasional rain in the north. Temperatures will see little change, apart from slight decreases in maximums in inland areas. Moderate north winds, with strong gusts possible south of Jandía from the afternoon.
Gran Canaria. In the north, below 1,000 to 1,100 metres during the first half of the day, predominantly overcast skies at the start, gradually clearing by midday. It will become more overcast in the evening and night, with a low probability of light, occasional rain, particularly in the midlands. The remainder of the island will experience mostly clear conditions with some high clouds. Temperatures will remain stable or slightly decline along the coasts, with a moderate decrease in the midlands and high areas, especially maximums. Moderate trade winds will produce strong gusts in the southeast and western slopes, as well as in the peaks and southern midlands, where very strong gusts are likely in the afternoon. Breezes will appear in the southwest.
Tenerife. In the north, below 1,100 to 1,200 metres throughout the first half of the day, predominantly cloudy at the start, with clear spells developing from midday. In the evening and night, conditions will become cloudy with a low probability of light, occasional rain, more likely in the northeast midlands. The rest will remain mostly clear, with some cloudy intervals on the west coast and high clouds present. Temperatures will be stable along the coasts, with slight increases on the eastern shore. Moderate declines are expected in the midlands and high areas, especially maximums. Moderate trade winds will strengthen at the extreme southeast and northwest ends, while breezes will dominate in the western regions. In central peaks and the Ridge, moderate northern-northwestern winds will increase in strength in the afternoon, with locally very strong gusts likely in the southern-facing midlands towards the end of the day.
La Gomera. In the north, predominantly cloudy at the start, gradually clearing by midday. At night, it will become overcast with a low probability of light, occasional rain, more likely in the midlands. The rest will be mostly clear with cloudy intervals on the southern coast and some high clouds. Temperatures will see little change along the coasts. Moderate declines are expected in the midlands and high areas, particularly maximums. Moderate trade winds will have strong intervals at the extreme southeast and northwest, as well as in the peaks towards the end of the day, where locally very strong gusts are possible.
La Palma. In the north and east, below 1,200 to 1,300 metres during the first half of the day, predominantly overcast skies in the early hours, tending to clear by midday. In the evening and night, it will become cloudy with a low probability of light, occasional rain, particularly in the northeast midlands. The rest will remain mostly clear, with some cloudy intervals on the west coast and high clouds present. Temperatures will remain unchanged along the coasts, with slight to moderate declines in the midlands and high areas. Moderate trade winds will produce strong gusts in the southeast and northwest extremes, especially in the afternoon. Breezes will appear in the west. Winds at the peaks will be moderate from the north.
El Hierro. In the north, predominantly cloudy at the start, tending to clear by midday. At night, conditions will become overcast with a low probability of light, occasional rain, more likely in the northeast midlands. The rest will remain mostly clear with high clouds present. Temperatures will remain steady along the coasts, with slight to moderate declines in the midlands and high areas. Moderate trade winds will produce strong gusts on the southeast slope and extreme northwest, particularly in the afternoon and evening. Breezes will occur in the southwest.
