The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has announced that this Monday in the Canary Islands, haze is expected in high southern areas, with lesser effects along the coasts. Isolated storms may occur, accompanied by locally heavy showers, while minimum temperatures will decrease but maximums could still exceed 30 degrees.
The wind will blow from the northeast in coastal areas, with occasional very strong gusts in exposed regions, and will be light to moderate from the east at mid-levels and from the south at peaks.
As for the state of the sea in the Canary Islands, winds from the northeast of force 4 or 5 will strengthen to 6, producing choppy to rough seas, and varying from force 1 to 3 along the southwest and southern coasts of the islands with slight waves.
A northwest swell is expected with waves of 1 to 2 metres and regular visibility due to haze.

LANZAROTE. Mostly clear or cloudless, except for some intervals in the north during the early hours. There is a low probability of isolated storms in the area during the first half of the day, generally with little precipitation associated. Haze will be prominent, mainly in elevated areas, although it may also become significant in lower regions; it is expected to decrease by the end of the day.
Maximum temperatures will decrease in the west and slightly in the east, with values potentially exceeding 30 ºC in the southern interior. Minimum temperatures will remain about the same. Winds will be light to moderate from the northeast in coastal areas, with weak easterly winds predominating at higher interior levels, tending to strengthen and shift to northeast in the afternoon.
FUERTEVENTURA. Mostly clear or cloudless. Low probability of isolated storms in the area during the first half of the day, generally with little precipitation associated. Haze will be prominent, mainly in elevated areas, but it may also become significant in lower regions; expected to decrease by the end of the day.
Maximum temperatures will decrease in the west and slightly in the east, with values potentially exceeding 30-32 ºC in the southern interior. Minimum temperatures will remain about the same. Moderate northeast winds will occur in coastal areas with strong intervals by the end of the day, while weak easterly winds will prevail in higher interior areas, tending to strengthen and shift to the northeast in the afternoon.
GRAN CANARIA. Generally clear or cloudless. In the north, below 500-600 metres, there will be cloudy intervals during the early and late hours, with clearer conditions for the rest of the day. There is a low probability that some stormy showers could form in the interior during the central hours of the day. Haze will be significant mainly in high southern areas, but lower areas may also be affected.
Maximum temperatures will decrease in the northern mid-levels; little change is expected elsewhere, with values potentially exceeding 30-32 degrees in wide areas of the southern interior. Minimum temperatures will slightly decrease at peaks and mid-levels of the south, with few changes elsewhere. Winds will be light to moderate from the northeast along the coast, with occasional strong intervals. In interior areas, weak easterly winds will prevail, tending to strengthen and shift to the northeast in the afternoon. At peaks, winds will be light, shifting to a northern component. Breezes will be present along southwestern coasts.
TENERIFE. Generally clear or cloudless. In the north, below 500-600 metres, there will be cloudy intervals during the early and late hours, followed by clearer conditions for the rest of the day. Some isolated stormy showers may occur on the northern slope of Teide during the central hours, with lesser probability in the south. Haze will be most significant in elevated areas oriented to the south, but it may also be present in lower areas, tending to improve by the end of the day.
Maximum temperatures will see a slight to moderate decrease in the north, especially in mid-levels, and slightly in other inland areas, with values potentially exceeding 30 ºC locally on southern and western slopes. Minimum temperatures will slightly decrease in inland areas, with few changes elsewhere. Winds will be light to moderate from the northeast along the coast, with strong intervals in the southeast and northwest tip, where very strong gusts cannot be ruled out; in mid-levels, winds will be light and variable. On Teide, winds will be light from the west. Breezes will develop along western coasts.
LA GOMERA. Generally clear or cloudless. In the north, below 500-600 metres, there will be cloudy intervals during the early and late hours, followed by clearer conditions for the rest ofthe day. Haze will affect elevated areas oriented to the south, with the possibility of significant effects also in lower regions; conditions are expected to improve by the end of the day.
