A woman has been taken to hospital after being rescued by firefighters from beneath a boat in Caleta de Sebo, La Graciosa.

According to information provided by the Consortium for Security and Emergencies, they were alerted by a woman knocking on the park’s door at 16:20, reporting that a person was trapped by a boat. Upon arrival at the site, at the La Graciosa teleclub slipway, they found a woman beneath the vessel but not trapped under it. A nurse already on the scene was assessing the affected individual. They subsequently contacted medical services while attending to her and preparing for the extraction. While waiting for medical personnel, a doctor who was in the area arrived and reassessed the woman. Once the medical services arrived, the woman was placed on a spinal board, and, sliding it over the rocks, she was transferred to the ambulance stretcher, where she was positioned supine.

Later, firefighters assisted the medical team at the dock with the transfer of the injured woman from the ambulance to the ferry that took her to Lanzarote.
