Woman Rescued by Helicopter After Suffering Respiratory Distress

On Saturday, a 70-year-old woman was rescued by a helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) of the Canary Islands Government after experiencing respiratory difficulties while walking along a challenging path in Ajuy, in the municipality of Pájara (Fuerteventura), as reported by the Canary Islands 112 Emergency Coordination Centre.

The incident occurred around 12:10 PM, prompting the GES helicopter to be dispatched after receiving a notification that a woman was stranded on a difficult path and was unable to continue due to her breathing difficulties.

Once the helicopter located the woman, she was rescued with the assistance of firefighters and local police, who also responded to the area. She was then transported to the helipad of the General Hospital of Fuerteventura.
