The seventeenth Summer Opportunities Fair has commenced today with an inaugural event. Organised by the Small and Medium Enterprise Association of Tuineje, ‘La Gavia’, this event will take place on 6th and 7th June to continue stimulating the local economy through a mix of exclusive discounts, family activities, and live musical performances.

The fair features participation from over twenty establishments across diverse sectors, including fashion, footwear, pets, automotive, insurance, sports, accessories, Canarian and agricultural products, and café services. Furthermore, the event will host performances and activities from Academia Acromovement, Axion, Dúo Gente Nueva, Parranda el Callao, and Academia Entre Siluetas.

The president of the Cabildo, Lola García, welcomed attendees to the fair and expressed gratitude to all entrepreneurs present at the Gran Tarajal fairground, saying, “They are energising the economy of the area and offering families the chance to purchase goods at great prices.”

Commerce councillor Lolina Negrín commended the association for organising this fair, “demonstrating once again their commitment and hard work for the commerce of this municipality.”

Tuineje’s mayor, David Herrera, and the commerce councillor, Evelyn Ávila, thanked the ‘La Gavia’ Association for continuing to promote events that give visibility to the town’s businesses. “We at the Town Hall will continue to lend our support so that, year after year, we can return here,” Herrera added.

From the ‘La Gavia’ association, its president, Nina Rodríguez, welcomed the latest edition of the fair. “It is important for us, as we have been consolidating year after year, with a wide variety of shops, and this time also supporting local products from Majorero, with the involvement of local producers.”

Special guest Salomé Sánchez, from the Andrómeda bookstore, has a stand to present her book Sol y sombras, with proceeds going to Asomasamen and AECC Fuerteventura. During the fair, a prize draw will take place for each customer, with winners announced on Sunday at 14:00.
