The incident occurred on the 20th of May 2026, as part of the preventive controls that the Civil Guard regularly conducts at the island’s transport infrastructure. During a random verification operation prompted by the arrival of a flight from Seville, officers observed a series of circumstances that led to the identification of three passengers.

Following the identification of the individuals, officers conducted a search of their belongings, locating several packages containing a brown resinous substance consistent with hashish. Once the substance was seized and weighed, it was confirmed that the total amount reached three kilograms.

As a result of this operation, two of the identified individuals were arrested, and a third was investigated as a suspected perpetrator of a crime against public health. The narcotic substance was seized and handed over to the relevant authorities for analysis and further processing.

Finally, the detainees, along with the associated documentation and the seized drugs, were submitted to the competent judicial authority, which will continue the proceedings necessary to clarify the facts.
