Princess Leonor Visits Teror in Gran Canaria
Princess Leonor has made her first visit to the municipality of Teror in Gran Canaria on Tuesday, June 16, alongside her peers from the 78th promotion of the General Air and Space Academy (AGA).
The Town Hall reported that the heir to the throne made the visit discreetly, avoiding any official representation from the Royal Household and participating as just another ensign in the promotion, as part of their end-of-studies journey in Gran Canaria.
### Welcome Reception
The group, consisting of 72 students and several professors under the command of Colonel Ajenjo, was welcomed by the mayor of Teror, José Agustín Arencibia. He was accompanied by the first deputy mayor, Sergio Nuez, the parish priest of the Basilica of Teror, Jorge Martín de la Coba, and other municipal representatives.
During the day, the princess was joined by 57 male peers and 14 female peers from the military academy. Together, they toured the basilica, observed the image of the Virgin of the Pine up close, and enjoyed a guided visit of the historical centre of the town.
### Meeting at the Town Hall
Following a meeting between the AGA commissioner and the Town Hall representatives at the Town Hall, where they exchanged gifts to express gratitude for the visit, the ensigns posed for photographs in front of the Basilica of the Pine.
Subsequently, they participated in a guided tour of the area surrounding the temple, organised by the Teror Tourist Information Office.
This visit is part of a tradition whereby different promotions of the military academy visit this municipality during their end-of-year journey to Gran Canaria, which is taking place from Sunday, June 14, until Friday, June 19.
