Magec Tías Set for New Season in Women’s Basketball

CD Magec Tías is progressing with its plans for the 2026/2027 season, having submitted the necessary financial guarantees and documentation to the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB). This is part of the formal registration process for the Magec Tías Lanzarote Contra la Violencia de Género team in the Women’s League 2, following confirmation from FEB of their spot in the competition for another year.

Led by President Juan Ángel Fernández, the club has met all FEB requirements within the designated timeframes and is now awaiting final validation of its documents to officially confirm their participation.

This season holds special significance as it marks ten years of Magec Tías competing in the third tier of women’s basketball in Spain, a testament to their ongoing dedication both on and off the court.

“We’re taking steps to ensure the project continues in the demanding Women’s League 2. We’ve completed all the administrative and financial requirements set by FEB and are hopeful for a definitive confirmation of our registration in the coming days,” said Fernández.

While the club awaits administrative completion, the sporting department is busy assembling a competitive squad for the upcoming season. Their goal is to create a team capable of facing the challenges ahead safely and more smoothly than in the recently concluded season.

Last year’s campaign highlighted the dedication of the players, coaching staff, and management in competing against better-resourced teams. This experience will serve as a foundation for the club’s ambitions to strengthen its position in the league and aim for more ambitious targets.

Beyond the competitive aspect, Magec Tías Lanzarote Contra la Violencia de Género will also carry a message of social commitment through sport across Spain. The fight against gender violence remains a core value of the club, which is firmly committed to promoting equality and the values that sport embodies in society.

With the financial backing presented and registration underway, CD Magec Tías is excited to embark on this new chapter. The coming weeks will reveal player renewals and new signings, shaping a team ready to proudly represent Lanzarote in Women’s League 2 and celebrate a decade in this challenging competition.
