Oasis Wildlife Fuerteventura Stars in Upcoming Film

Oasis Wildlife Fuerteventura is in the spotlight as the setting for Haciendo Amigos, a new comedy by Santiago Segura, set to hit cinemas on 10 July. The film promotes essential values such as empathy, friendship, inclusion, and teamwork, with David Marqués directing and a cast featuring Quim Gutiérrez, Antonio Resines, Megan Montaner, and Marta González de Vega, who also penned the script.

For Oasis Wildlife, being part of this project goes beyond just being a filming location. It represents a chance to support a cultural initiative aligned with its mission to foster an inclusive and compassionate society.

The film centres on themes of coexistence and empathy, echoing Oasis Wildlife’s longstanding commitment to biodiversity conservation, environmental education, and social action. The organisation firmly believes that respect for nature goes hand in hand with respect for people.

One notable example of this ethos is the Chekipa Foundation affiliated with Oasis Wildlife. Through various social programmes, the foundation advocates for inclusion and equal opportunities, using nature as a pivotal tool for personal growth and integration.

Guacimara Cabrera, manager of Oasis Wildlife, expressed pride in collaborating on Haciendo Amigos: “It’s a true honour for our team to be involved in a film that reflects our values of friendship, inclusion, and the transformative power of shared experiences.”

Choosing Oasis Wildlife as a filming location also highlights one of the most unique conservation spaces in the Canary Islands, reinforcing the connection between culture, nature, and sustainable tourism.

Cabrera added, “We thank the production team for their trust and are grateful to be part of a cinema project that not only entertains but also encourages reflection on building a society where diversity is cherished, and values like solidarity and respect take centre stage.”
