The twentieth edition of the festival will offer activities related to creativity, sustainability, and cultural exchange on 3rd and 4th July
The Fuerteventura en Música Festival (FEM) will begin to unfold its spirit in the hours leading up to the main concerts, with a daytime programme that will fill various spaces in El Cotillo with music, workshops, cultural activities, and sustainability initiatives.
The twentieth edition of FEM, taking place on the 3rd and 4th of July at La Concha Beach, thus maintains one of its most recognisable features: offering an open, free cultural experience connected to the environment, where music coexists with creativity, environmental education, and intercultural dialogue.
The daytime programme will kick off on Friday, 3rd July, at the Public Square of El Cotillo with the creative workshop “Don’t throw anything away, touch it first,” taught by sound artist Alessandro Ferrato. He transforms reused materials and everyday objects into musical instruments, blending artistic experimentation with environmental awareness.
The day will continue with a parade featuring the batucada group Corumba from El Cotillo, which will march through the town to La Concha Beach, inviting residents and visitors to join in the festive atmosphere of FEM.
On Saturday, 4th July, activities will move to Muelle Chico, where the collective Papaya Subtropical, led by music selectors Sudakita and El Yeye, will present a session focused on root music and contemporary global sounds. This proposal has established itself in recent years as a cultural alternative reference in Fuerteventura.
The programme will also include a workshop on Afro-Guinean dance and percussion, organised by the Fuerteventura African Percussion Association. This entity aims to bring the cultural richness of West Africa to the island through music, dance, and intercultural coexistence.
Live music will be provided by the Naby Zana Band, led by Guinean artist Naby Cámara, whose work fuses traditional African rhythms with Canary Island and Latin American influences, creating a sound characterised by hybridity and cultural exchange.
The daytime stage will also feature Hey Chabón, one of the most prominent emerging bands in the Canary Islands music scene. Their proposal combines cumbia, reggae, son, chacarera, and other Latin American and Caribbean rhythms in concerts noted for their energy and ability to engage with the audience.
The programme will culminate with Chocolate Sexy, a musical project born in Fuerteventura that has developed a distinct identity by blending rap, Caribbean rhythms, and contemporary urban influences, becoming one of the most unique proposals to emerge from the local music scene.
The FEM 2026 has a host
The twentieth edition of FEM will be hosted by Pilar López, a well-known figure in Fuerteventura radio. With over twenty years of experience in musical and entertainment programmes, she will lead the various activities and concerts of the festival.
Currently, Pilar López presents the programme Suena Bien on Radio Insular and is well-versed in the island’s music scene. Her involvement strengthens the connection of FEM with local talent and professionals who have long been part of Fuerteventura’s cultural life.
Festival Schedule
The main stage at La Concha Beach will unite national, international, and Canary Island artists over two days, making this edition particularly significant for the festival’s twentieth anniversary.

With this programming, FEM reaffirms its commitment to cultural diversity, sustainability, local talent, and the meeting of different musical traditions, values that have accompanied the festival since its inception in 2004 and continue to define its identity twenty years later.
